Mental Health

Mental Health cooperative programs were designed to build partnerships between local County Mental Health (CMH) agencies and the DOR. These programs assist CMH clients with severe psychiatric disabilities, who are also DOR consumers, find, gain, and maintain meaningful community employment. Statewide, there are approximately 25 Mental Health Cooperative programs administered through third party cooperative agreements with local CMH agencies. In addition, more than 30 case service contracts with private non-profit Community Rehabilitation Programs (CRPs) are funded through these CMH cooperative programs to provide vocational rehabilitation services.

The CMH, or a contracted private non-profit CRP, provides exclusive vocational services and enhanced programming to enable CMH consumers to achieve employment utilizing assessments, vocational and work-site training, employment preparation, job development and placement, and retention services.
