The Plan for Provision of Resources to the State Independent Living Council (SILC)

The requirements of 34 CFR Part 364, state, "The SILC shall be independent of the designated state unit and all other State agencies". To meet these Federal requirements, the State Independent Living Council has been established as an independent state agency.

An interagency agreement has been negotiated with the Department of Rehabilitation (DR) and approved by the Department of Finance. This agreement provides SILC the resources it needs for staff salaries and benefits, meetings, hearings, public forums and incidental travel and communication from Title VII (b) administration funds. The current SILC budget is set at $452,000 for 2005, $445,000 for 2006, and $455,000 for 2007. The 3.0 FTE positions include one Executive Director, one Associate Government Program Analyst and one Secretary.
