National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA)
NMEDA is a non-profit trade association of mobility equipment dealers, driver rehabilitation specialists, and other professionals dedicated to broadening the opportunities for people with disabilities to drive or be transported in vehicles modified with mobility equipment. All members work together to improve transportation options of people with disabilities.

The Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED)
The ADED was established in 1977 to support professionals working in the field of driver education / driver training and transportation equipment modifications for persons with disabilities through education and information dissemination. The ADED is a nonprofit association, and is the primary professional organization in this specialized area, and stands ready to meet the professional needs of its members through educational conferences and research support as well as encouraging equipment development to maximize the transportation options for persons with disabilities.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)
NHTSA saves lives, prevents injuries and reduces economic costs due to road traffic crashes, through education, research, safety standards and enforcement activity. NHTSA provides leadership to the motor vehicle and highway safety community through the development of innovative approaches to reducing motor vehicle crashes and injuries. NHTSA spearheads innovative research and data analysis critical to motor vehicle and highway safety. NHTSA leads the Nation by setting the motor vehicle and highway safety agenda. NHTSA serves as the catalyst for addressing critical safety issues that affect the motor vehicle and highway safety communities.

Refueling for Persons with Disabilities
The purpose of this brochure is to describe the provisions of the law, to explain how it relates to other state and federal laws affecting access to refueling services for persons with disabilities, and to help persons with disabilities and service station operators to locate resources for additional information.

RADCO is a nationally recognized testing laboratory, listing and quality control inspection agency headquartered in Long Beach, California. Founded in 1967 as a service oriented engineering company, RADCO established its test laboratory and listing capability in early 1970. RADCO provides recognized evaluations of handicapped conversions.

Loan Guarantee Program
The Transportation Loan Guarantee Program is provided through California Assistive Technology Exchange (CATE). A person with a disability who requires a modified vehicle may be eligible for the program.

Social Security-Pass Cadre (Statewide)
A Social Security PASS Plan provides you with the extra funds you need to reach your goals in life. You may be eligible for hundreds, even thousands of dollars of additional support! You could receive both a SSDI and a SSI disability check.

DMV Driver Safety Office (Statewide)
There are currently 12 DMV Driver Safety Offices located throughout the state for those drivers requesting Administrative Hearings or scheduled for departmental re-examinations. Administrative Hearings conducted by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) provide a fair resolution of matters in a professional, efficient way, and ensure due process is afforded to all drivers. This information is a general guide for those entitled to request a Driver Safety (DS) administrative hearing. It is intended to assist you with understanding the hearing process and preparing for your hearing. If you have received notification that a proposed action is being taken against your driving privilege, you must request a hearing within 10 days of receiving personal service or 14 days from the date the notice is mailed. If you do not make a timely request, your right to a hearing will be lost.
