National Disability Employment
Awareness Month 2023
October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), an annual nationwide recognition that highlights the skills, diversity, and talent that people with disabilities bring to the workforce.
The theme for NDEAM 2023, Advancing Access and Equity: Then, Now and Next, which promotes NDEAM and honors the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the first federal legislation to address access and equity for people with disabilities.
NDEAM celebrates the contributions of America’s workers with disabilities past and present and showcases supportive, inclusive policies and practices that benefit employees and employers alike.
NDEAM may take place once a year but hiring qualified and talented people with disabilities is something that companies can do every day.
