WorkAbility III Programs
(Community College)

WorkAbility III (WAIII) programs were developed to enhance collaboration between select California Community Colleges and the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR). The WAIII programs serve individuals with disabilities who are both community college students and DOR consumers desiring and in need of employment. The programs are administered through cooperative agreements with select Community Colleges. Statewide there are approximately 19 WAIII Cooperative programs. WAIII services include vocational assessment, internships, employment preparation, job development, placement and retention, and short-term supports. Consumers are referred to the WAIII program by their DOR Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for enhanced, coordinated vocational services to help them obtain meaningful employment.
