What Can a WIP Do for You?
Our WIPs provide services in two key phases to support individuals who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and/or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). We understand that navigating employment while managing disability benefits can feel overwhelming. Many people are concerned about losing their benefits, but there are a variety of work incentives designed to protect and support you during this transition. Our WIPs are here to help you understand and make the most of these opportunities.
Work Incentive Pre-Planning Services
This is a great starting point if you are new to WIP Services. These are non-individualized services that include:
-
Attending presentations or workshops about Social Security programs and work incentives
-
Participating in group discussions to better understand information on work incentives.
-
Accepting guidance to help you decide if WIP Services are right for you.
Individualized WIP Services
These personalized services are tailored to your specific goals and benefit situation. They may include:
-
Sharing information with your WIP, who will develop a Benefits Summary and Analysis (BS&A) and a customized Work Incentives Plan.
- These two documents will describe your current benefits, explain how employment will impact your cash and medical benefits, and outline a set of steps and responsibilities for you to follow, ensuring that you follow all Social Security responsibilities and requirements.
-
Verifying your Ticket to Work (TTW) (new tab)
-
Working with your WIP to develop a Plan to Achieve Self-Support (PASS) (new tab).
